He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. —Colossians 2:14

How many times have you thought about things you know you shouldn’t have done, but you did it anyway? How many times has the devil reminded you of this or other sins? Now when he comes to tell us that we are no good, we can remind him what the Bible says.

I have been a Christian for over twenty years, and I never knew that this verse existed in the Bible. I am so excited to add this to my repertoire of ammunition to use against the devil. When Satan comes at us with lies and accusations, we need to be armed with the sword of the Spirit which is the Bible. We need to be like Jesus and say, “No. That is not true. It is written.” The Word of God is a powerful weapon that we must use if we are to not only survive but to thrive in this world.

The next time the devil comes at me with something, I am going to tell him, “My name is in the Book of Life, and it is written that ‘He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.’” Jesus already paid for that sin. I have repented and you cannot drag me down because of it! IT IS FINISHED!!!"
