PF: What products and services do you provide?

Theresa: AVON products, which range from beauty products to jewelry and clothing.

PF: What made you decide to start a home business?

Theresa: I am a homeschooling stay-at-home-mom of 4, and really wanted to contribute to the family income without having to work outside the home.

PF: Why did you choose AVON?

Theresa: Because I knew that the company had been around for years (over 100!) and had a money back guarantee on their products. I also liked the great variety of items AVON offered, not just makeup. The low start-up cost of only $10 was also a great incentive.

PF: What is the most surprising thing about having a home business?

Theresa: The most surprising thing is how much my family is willing to help me out. At first I was afraid it would take too much time away from my family, but they all pitch in, even if it's only to give me some uninterrupted time on the phone to take an order, or if I need to leave the house to do deliveries.

PF: How do you juggle your business with family time?

Theresa: By doing what I can when everyone else is asleep, like bagging brochures, sorting samples, etc. The rest I do when I need to, like taking orders. My family can be very flexible!

PF: What advice do you have for others who are considering starting their own business?

Theresa: If you are married, talk it over with your husband. Together you can brainstorm ideas and pray for the Lord's leading.

PF: How have you seen God's hand in the business?

Theresa: I have seen God's hand in my business from the very beginning, when I was praying about home businesses. The Lord led me to Avon. It fits me perfectly, and with a little creative scheduling, everything gets done and (hopefully!) no one gets neglected. I still have time for household duties, homeschooling, ministry, and just plain fun time with the family!
