We are thankful for our earthly possessions.
Our house may not be a spacious mansion, but is roomy
enough for our family.
Our furniture and carpeting are well-worn, which means
many guests have graced us with their presence.
Our car may not be the latest model, but it has provided
necessary transportation and allowed us to provide rides
to others
who may not have a car or cannot drive.
We do not serve gourmet food at our table, but rather
simple, healthful meals.
Although our clothing is not always fashionable, it does
keep us covered and warm.
We are thankful for our family and friends who enrich
our lives—
For music, laughter, joy, peace, love
Most of all we are thankful for the hope of heaven
Where we will live in custom-built mansions designed by
the Architect of the Universe
Wear robes of righteousness created by the Master
Designer who also clothes the flowers
Eat at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb
If all our earthly possessions were to perish now, the
hope of the life to come would be enough to be thankful
for.
