Blessed gift of parenthood
Given by God the Source of good
Sent to humankind from heaven
Thanks to God for it be given
Hear us, Father, as we pray
For all parents on this day
With Your precious, saving love
Guard and keep them from above.

Keep them free from sin’s dread stain
Help them faithful to remain
Grant that in their lives they find
Health of body, soul, and mind.
As the trials of life they face
Give full measure of Your grace.
Wisdom, courage, help afford
Keep them focused on Your Word.

When their work on earth is o’er
And they near Your heavenly shore
Pain and tears will soon be past
Heaven’s promised joys will last
May they feel Your guiding hand
Safely bring them to that land
Where together, Lord, may we
Praise You as one family.
