Faith
-James 5:16b
I’d like to
paint the picture that
I see inside my head --
A portrait of my mother as
She knelt beside her bed.
She taught me
from the Bible, and
She kept me clothed and fed.
But mostly I remember times
She knelt beside her bed.
She couldn’t
face the world alone,
But turned to God instead,
And let Him lift her burdens as
She knelt beside her bed.
She lingered
with her Savior there
And many tears were shed.
But faith became much stronger
when
She knelt beside her bed.
It wasn’t just
the things she did,
Or even what she said.
I learned to love the Lord
because
She knelt beside her bed.
