Statement of Faith

Summary

We believe in the one true God, the Creator of the universe who exists eternally in three distinct coequal Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of all who believe in and follow Him. Salvation is a free gift of God's grace because of Jesus (the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary, His subsequent resurrection and current intercessory ministry) and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The end of the age and the future of God's Kingdom will be marked by the personal return of Jesus.

We believe gender differences are a gift from God and should be celebrated.

We Believe...
  1. Gender differences are a gift from God and should be celebrated.

  1. The Holy Scriptures, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, are fully inspired by God and are completely trustworthy.

I Pet. 1:10-12, Matt. 5:17,18, John 5:45-47, I Tim. 3:16-17, II Pet. 1:20,21, Ps. 119:1-60, John 10:35, Heb 1:1,2, Luke 24:25-27, Luke 24:44-47, John 5:39, II Pet. 3:15-16, Heb. 8:7-13

  1. There is only one true, eternal, perfect God. Within the Being of this one true God exist three eternally distinct and coequal Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three Persons are the one true God.

  1. In Scripture, the Father is revealed as a person of the Triune Godhead. His power and existence are revealed in creation and in the function of the human conscience. He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, into the world for the salvation of the world. He is a Father in a personal relationship to all who follow Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Deut. 6:4, I Tim. 1:7, I Tim. 2:3, Heb. 11:3, Ex. 34:6-7, Gen. 1:1-2:3, Matt. 3:13-17, II Cor. 13:14, Juhn 3:16, John 14:9-12, I John 3:1-2

  1. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the second Person of the Trinity. He was with the Father from all eternity. For our salvation, He took upon Himself human nature, and by His redemptive death and resurrection conquered the forces of sin and Satan and atoned for the sins of mankind. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and in God's redemptive purpose was crucified. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now as Lord and Christ intercedes at the right hand of the Father for the saints. He is the Lord and Savior of all Christian believers, and the coming judge of the living and the dead. We believe in His full deity and full humanity according to the Scriptures.

John 1:1-4,14,18, John 14:5-10, Col. 1:15-17, Matt. 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-35, Phil. 2:5-11, Heb. 1:3,4, II Cor. 5:19-21, Mark 10:45, Rom. 3:21-26, Rom. 5:9-11, Isa. 53:4-12, I Cor. 15:3,4, I Pet. 2:24, Acts 1:9-11, Rom. 8:33,34, Heb. 7:25, Heb. 9:24, Phil. 2:10,11, Col. 1:19-21

  1. The Holy Spirit is the eternal Third Person of the Triune God. He is God, active and present in the world, ministering comfort and guidance. He is the agent of sanctification in a believer's life, producing progressing growth and spiritual fruit.

Gen. 1:1-2, Acts 5:3,4, II Cor. 13:14, John 16:7-11, I Cor. 6:17-20, Eph. 3:14-19, Acts 2:1-21, John 14:16,26, Rom. 8:1-17, Acts 4:31, I Pet. 1:2, I Cor. 2:12-14, Gal. 5:16-25, Eph. 1:13,14, I Cor. 12:7-11, Eph. 4:30, Rom. 15:18,19

  1. Creation is a supernatural and good work of God. He alone is the explanation of the existence and origin of all things.

Gen. 1,2, Heb. 11:3, Isa. 40:26, Eph. 3:9, Col. 1:16, Rev. 4:11

  1. Humans were created in the image of God, in perfect holiness and fellowship with God. Through the fall of Adam that image of God in humanity has been corrupted, but not eradicated. Every human being is, in and of himself, corrupt and estranged from God. Humans are condemned by God as a result of their descent into sin, both through their relationship with Adam and through their individual choice. The greatest need of all humanity is forgiveness of sin and restoration of fellowship with God; yet human beings are totally unable to atone for and restore themselves.

Gen. 1:26-31, Gen 2:7,18-25, Gal. 3:28, I Cor. 11:3-16, Eph. 5:22-33, I Tim. 2:11-15, Gen. 3, Rom. 5:12-21, Eph. 4:18,19

  1. Salvation is a free gift of God's grace because of Jesus Christ (the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary, His subsequent resurrection and current intercessory ministry) and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Those who receive His gift of salvation by faith become God's children, justified in their relationship with God, sanctified in their work and walk, and secure in an ongoing faith expressed by their obedience to Christ.

Rom. 6:23, Rom. 10:9,10, Phil. 1:6, Acts 2:38, Eph. 2:8-10, John 1:12, Gal. 4:4-7, Eph. 4:23,24, I Peter 1:5, I John 2:4-6, Col. 1:22,23, Rom. 5:1,12-21, James 2:14-26

  1. The Christian church is the universal body of redeemed believers who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

I Peter 2:9,10, Acts 2:42-47, I Cor. 1:2, I Cor. 14:26, Rom. 12:4-8, I Cor. 12, Eph. 4:7-16, Matt. 28:19,20, John 13:14-16, I Cor. 11, James 5:13-16, Matt. 5:13-16, II Cor. 5:18-20, Rom. 8:17, II Thess. 1:5

  1. The Lord Jesus instructed believers to be baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In order to qualify for baptism one must repent, turn to Christ with a sincere faith, and accept Him as Lord and Savior. Water baptism symbolizes the receipt of the Holy Spirit, divine cleansing from sin and its guilt, identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and a commitment to follow Him with a life of faithful discipleship.

Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:16-21; 22:16; Romans 6:4-6; I Corinthians 12:13; I Peter 3:21.

  1. The end of the age and the future of God's Kingdom will be marked by the personal return of Jesus. All people who received the free gift of salvation (the redeemed) will be raised from the dead or raptured to meet Him. Their bodies will be transformed, and they will enjoy eternal glory and bliss with God in a new heaven and a new earth. Eternal punishment (hell) apart from the Kingdom of God will be experienced by the unredeemed.

Rom. 8:22,23, Acts 1:10,11, Matt. 24:30, II Cor. 5:6-10, John 5:29, I Cor. 15:20-28, Thess. 4:13-17, Rev. 20:10, Rev. 21
